STEM from Scratch introduces the January options for involving youth in STEM activities:

1. I-STEM Program

  • Location: Aldershot High School (Burlington), T.A. Blakelock High School (Oakville), Elsie Macgill Secondary School (Milton)
  • Duration: 4-year program from Grade 9-12 (apply in Grade 8; selection is random)
  • Focus: Engineering, design, leadership; creative and critical thinking with a global view
  • Fee: $200 each year
  • Specialized Courses: I-STEM Math, Integrated Project Based Learning

2. Halton Hills Public Library

  • Program Types: STEM and Arts for kids; features animation and robotics/programming
  • Program Duration: 8 weeks, available 4 times a year

3. Chamelea Science Centre

  • Target Age: Kids 3-12 years old in Toronto; available for Vaughan/Markham residents
