Announcement of Reopening

Welcome back to the monthly newsletter of STEM from Scratch! It has been some time since we last connected. In case you haven’t heard, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit organization that has been recently revived. The new direction is led by high school students in Ontario who are enthusiastic about STEM and intend to reach out to others through monthly newsletters covering STEM-related subjects and intriguing scientific and mathematical themes.

What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?

STEM is a swiftly evolving and dynamic field, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance accessibility for everyone through this organization. Our strategy is to boost awareness of opportunities, workshops, and activities that delve into various aspects of STEM for students. By doing so, we aspire to assist students in discovering hands-on experiences in their areas of interest and nurturing their enthusiasm in science and technology with stimulating activities. We also plan to offer resources for the different sectors of STEM to broaden our readers’ knowledge while helping them pinpoint which specific STEM subjects resonate with them the most.

So, what will this specifically entail?

Excellent question! We have an array of initiatives lined up for you. One project we intend to launch is the organization of events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily aimed at younger students in elementary school within our team’s local community. We are currently on the lookout for hackathons in computer science, math competitions, and interactive workshops focused on topics such as health sciences. We will also ensure these events are not limited to our team’s current location, but are accessible wherever our readers are! We believe these experiences will provide a fantastic way to engage with STEM and follow your passions.
