Welcome back to the monthly newsletter of STEM from Scratch! It’s been some time since our last gathering. In case you haven’t heard, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit organization that has recently undergone a relaunch. The helm is now led by enthusiastic high school students in Ontario who are dedicated to STEM and intend to reach out to others through monthly newsletters about STEM-related themes and fascinating scientific and mathematical discussions.
**What can you look forward to from STEM from Scratch?**
STEM is a fast-evolving and dynamic sector, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance accessibility to entry and engagement for everyone through this organization. Our strategy is to elevate awareness about opportunities, workshops, and activities that delve into various facets of STEM for students. In doing so, we aim to assist students in discovering hands-on experiences in their chosen fields and nurturing their enthusiasm for science and technology through captivating activities. Additionally, we plan to offer resources for the diverse domains within STEM to broaden our readers’ understanding while aiding them in identifying which specific STEM subjects resonate with them the most.
**So, what will this specifically involve?**
Excellent question! We have plenty in store for you. One of the initiatives we aim to implement is organizing events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily aimed at younger students in elementary school and within our team’s local community. We are currently on the lookout for hackathons in computer science, math competitions, and interactive workshops centered around topics like health sciences as fantastic opportunities. We will ensure that these events are not confined to our team’s present location but are available wherever our readers are located! We believe these experiences will provide a fantastic opportunity to engage with STEM and pursue your interests.
