Welcome back to the monthly newsletter from STEM from Scratch! It’s been some time since our last interaction. In case you missed it, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit entity that has recently been revitalized. The new leadership is now in the hands of high school students in Ontario who are enthusiastic about STEM and intend to connect with others through monthly newsletters covering STEM-related themes and fascinating scientific and mathematical subjects.
What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?
STEM is an evolving and dynamic domain, and our team’s primary aim is to enhance accessibility and involvement for all through this organization. Our strategy is to boost awareness of opportunities, workshops, and events that delve into different facets of STEM for students. By doing this, we hope to assist students in discovering practical experiences in their areas of interest and nurture their enthusiasm for science and technology through engaging activities. Additionally, we intend to offer resources across various STEM sectors to expand our readers’ understanding while aiding them in pinpointing which specific STEM subjects resonate with them the most.
So, what will this specifically entail?
Excellent question! We have numerous plans in store for you. One of the initiatives we aim to launch involves organizing events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily focused on younger students in elementary school and within our team’s local community. Currently, we are on the lookout for hackathons in computer science, math competitions, and interactive workshops covering topics like health sciences. We will ensure that these events are accessible not only in our team’s immediate area but also wherever our readers may be! We believe that these experiences will provide an excellent opportunity to engage with STEM and chase your passions.
