Welcome back to the monthly newsletter of STEM from Scratch! It has been some time since our last connection. If you haven’t heard, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit entity that has recently been revamped. The leadership has now been entrusted to enthusiastic high school students in Ontario who are dedicated to STEM and intend to engage others through monthly newsletters covering STEM-related subjects and intriguing scientific and mathematical themes.
**What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?**
STEM is an area that is swiftly evolving and continuously transforming, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance accessibility to entry and engagement for all through this organization. Our approach is to raise awareness of opportunities, workshops, and events that delve into various STEM aspects for students. By doing so, we aim to assist students in discovering hands-on experiences in their chosen field and nurture their enthusiasm for science and technology through interactive activities. Additionally, we intend to offer resources across different sectors of STEM to broaden our readers’ understanding while aiding them in recognizing which specific STEM topics resonate most with them.
**So, what will this look like in detail?**
Excellent question! We have an array of initiatives planned for you. One project we aim to launch involves hosting events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily focused on younger students in elementary school and within our team’s local vicinity. We are currently on the lookout for hackathons related to computer science, math competitions, and interactive workshops on topics like health sciences. We are committed to ensuring that these opportunities extend beyond our team’s current location to wherever our readers are! We believe these experiences will serve as an excellent means to engage in STEM and follow your passions.
