We’re excited to welcome you once again to the monthly newsletter of STEM from Scratch! It’s been some time since our last interaction. In case you missed it, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit organization that has recently been revitalized. The leadership has now been taken over by enthusiastic high school students in Ontario who are devoted to STEM and intend to connect with others through monthly newsletters covering STEM-related subjects and fascinating scientific and mathematical themes.
What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?
STEM is an ever-evolving and quickly advancing domain, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance accessibility for everyone to enter and engage with this field through our organization. We aim to raise awareness of opportunities, workshops, and activities that delve into various facets of STEM for students. Through this initiative, we aspire to assist students in discovering practical experiences in their areas of interest while nurturing their enthusiasm for science and technology with captivating activities. We also intend to offer resources for the diverse sectors of STEM to broaden our audience’s understanding and facilitate their identification of which specific STEM subjects resonate with them the most.
So, what will this concretely entail?
Excellent question! We have a plethora of exciting initiatives lined up for you. One of the projects we plan to launch involves organizing events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily focused on younger students in elementary schools and within our team’s local community. We are actively looking for incredible opportunities like hackathons for computer science, math competitions, and hands-on workshops centered on themes like health sciences. We will also ensure that these events aren’t just confined to our team’s location but are accessible no matter where our readers are! We believe these experiences will be a fantastic way to engage in STEM and pursue your interests.
