Return and Re-engagement Notice

Welcome back to STEM from Scratch’s monthly newsletter! It has been some time since our last gathering. If you haven’t already heard, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit organization that has recently been reestablished. The new leadership is now in the hands of high school students in Ontario who are enthusiastic about STEM and intend to connect with others through monthly newsletters related to STEM subjects and intriguing scientific and mathematical themes.

What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?

STEM is a swiftly evolving and constantly changing domain, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance entry and participation for all individuals through this organization. Our strategy is to raise awareness of opportunities, workshops, and activities that delve into various aspects of STEM for students. Through this initiative, we seek to assist students in discovering practical experiences in their chosen field and nurturing their enthusiasm for science and technology with interactive activities. Additionally, we aim to offer resources for the different sectors of STEM to broaden our readers’ understanding while assisting them in identifying which specific STEM subjects resonate most with them.

So, what will this entail specifically?

Fantastic question! We have numerous initiatives planned for you. One project we aim to launch involves organizing events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily focused on younger students in elementary schools and within our team’s local vicinity. Hackathons for computer science, math competitions, and engaging workshops on subjects like health sciences are wonderful opportunities we are currently exploring. We will ensure that these events are not just limited to our team’s present location, but accessible to all our readers! We believe these experiences will serve as an excellent pathway to get involved in STEM and pursue your passions.
