Announcement of Return

Welcome back to the monthly newsletter of STEM from Scratch! It’s been a while since our last interaction. If you’re not aware, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit entity that has made a recent comeback. The new management is now in the hands of high school students in Ontario who are enthusiastic about STEM and intend to engage others through monthly newsletters covering STEM-related subjects/interesting scientific and mathematical themes.

What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?

STEM is a swiftly evolving and constantly shifting domain, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance accessibility for entry and involvement for everyone via this organization. Our strategy is to raise awareness of opportunities, workshops, and activities that delve into various aspects of STEM for students. Through this initiative, we aspire to assist students in discovering hands-on experiences in their chosen fields and nurture their enthusiasm for science and technology via engaging activities. We also intend to provide resources across the diverse sectors of STEM to broaden our readers’ understanding while also aiding them in identifying which specific STEM topics resonate with them the most.

So, what will this specifically entail?

Excellent question! We have a lot lined up for you. One initiative we are planning to launch will involve hosting events, including coding and/or math workshops primarily aimed at younger students in elementary schools and within our team’s local community. We are currently exploring fantastic opportunities such as hackathons for computer science, math competitions, and interactive workshops focused on subjects like health sciences. We will ensure that these events are not limited to our team’s immediate location, but accessible to all our readers! We believe these experiences will provide a wonderful way to engage in STEM and chase your passions.
