STEM from Scratch is committed to nurturing a passion and comprehension of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among young people. Every month, the organization showcases opportunities that enable young individuals and motivate them to immerse themselves in the thrilling realm of STEM. For January, numerous fantastic opportunities are open for youth to pursue.

1. **I-STEM Program**: Held at Aldershot High School, T.A. Blakelock High School, and Elsie MAcgill Secondary School, this four-year initiative (Grades 9-12) commences with an application procedure in Grade 8. It aims at fostering engineering, design, and leadership abilities, prioritizing inventive and analytical thinking with a global outlook. The program incurs an annual fee of $200 and includes courses specifically designed for STEM, such as I-STEM Math and Integrated Project-Based Learning.

2. **Halton Hills Public Library**: This establishment provides a comprehensive array of STEM and arts programs tailored for kids, including animation and robotics/programming. Most programs last for eight weeks and occur four times annually, ensuring ongoing educational opportunities. Libraries frequently offer a variety of STEM-centered programs, rendering them a vital resource.

3. **Chamelea Science Centre**: Situated in Toronto and reachable for those in Vaughn/Markham, this center caters to children aged 3-12. It conducts eight-week sessions for one hour, with fees ranging from $100 to $300. The center offers interactive STEM workshops facilitated by experienced instructors, allowing students to engage actively and take home their projects.

4. **Carnegie Mellon’s Open Learning Initiative**: Aimed at high school pupils, this remote learning option presents courses in computer science, life sciences, mathematics, and more, with fees from $10 to $80 per course. Each course offers interactive tasks and multimedia resources, permitting students to learn at their preferred pace. Application eligibility and program schedules differ.

5. **Girls Who Code**: This non-profit organization is focused on breaking down barriers for women and non-binary individuals in STEM sectors. Although based in the USA, it welcomes global applications, providing virtual programs. The Clubs Program is for Grades 3-12, arranged by skill levels from beginner to advanced, and is free, with a 1-2 hour weekly commitment. Summer Programs target Grades 9-12, also at no cost, offering flexible timings and grants for qualified students in the United States.
