Welcome back to STEM from Scratch’s monthly newsletter! It has been some time since our last interaction. If you haven’t heard the news, STEM from Scratch is a non-profit entity that has recently been revitalized. The leadership has now been entrusted to enthusiastic high school students in Ontario who are dedicated to STEM and intend to connect with others through monthly newsletters on STEM-related subjects/engaging scientific and mathematical themes.
**What can you anticipate from STEM from Scratch?**
STEM is an evolving and dynamic domain, and our team’s primary objective is to enhance accessibility to entry and engagement for everyone via this organization. Our strategy includes raising awareness about opportunities, workshops, and events that delve into various aspects of STEM for students. Through this initiative, we strive to assist students in locating hands-on experiences in their chosen field and nurturing their enthusiasm for science and technology through engaging activities. We also aim to offer resources spanning the different sectors of STEM to broaden our readers’ understanding while aiding them in identifying which specific STEM subjects resonate most with them.
**So, what will this specifically entail?**
Excellent query! We have a plethora of initiatives lined up for you. One plan we intend to initiate involves organizing events, such as coding and/or math workshops primarily aimed at younger students in elementary school and within our team’s local vicinity. Hackathons for computer science, math competitions, and interactive workshops focusing on themes like health sciences are fantastic opportunities we are currently pursuing. We will also ensure that these are not confined to our team’s present location, but are accessible wherever our readers may be! We believe these experiences will be an incredible way to engage with STEM and chase your passions.
